Mallika is one of my Class of 2016 spokesmodels; so by the time her shoot rolled around, I had already had the chance to take her photos two other times for some of our styled shoots. Each time, I got to meet more of her family and each time was a mini lesson in Indian culture. From learning about the art of traditional indian dance to learning the names of the different clothing pieces to learning about different Hindu traditions and rituals to being treated to an Indian dinner and getting a through explanation of what food item was…I have loved getting to know Mallika, her family, and am so excited to finally be able to share more of the photos from her recent senior shoot.

What makes this skirt especially awesome besides the intricate detail (CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW LONG IT TOOK TO MAKE THAT?!!!) is that it is vintage, first worn by her mother many years ago. In love with every stitch. <3
