Fashion Files: DIY Denim Chokers | Harrisburg Senior Photographer

Hey it’s Ingrid here with your first installment of Slice of Style’s 2017 FASHION FILES.  In case you haven’t noticed, CHOKERS ARE IN.  Savvy Trendsetters and celebrities can be seen wearing them with anything from glam looks to their everyday street style. Looking to break away from the classic black choker, I decided to put my own twist to it. Following these easy steps, you too can create an accessory that stays on trend but is unique to you.

Materials needed:

• an old pair of jeans or pants
• scissors, measuring tape
• thread, needle, buttons or snaps
  Step 1: Cut a strip of fabric off the bottom of your pants to your desired width for your choker.Step 2: Measure your neck and cut the piece of denim down to ensure a good fit. Make sure you allow enough to accommodate a button.Step 3: Thread the needle and sew on your button. You can use a snap to make it a cleaner look. But to make a statement choose a larger button and sew that on! (don’t forget to cut a whole on the other side)
  Step 4: Step back and admire your work.
  Step 5: Dress it up, dress it down. Rock it how you want!
