All week my head has just been buzzing with ideas. I’ve been taking notes, doodling here and there, and pinning till my heart is content…ideas for future shoots, ideas for wardrobe, ideas for Slice branding, you name it.

Have you ever just had that? Where there’s just so  many ideas swirling around in your head and you just need a release?!

Today, after the THRILL of giving all three of my dogs a bath, I cleaned up and headed over to the Antique Marketplace in Lemoyne.

With all the brainstorming and ideas that I had swirling in my head, I figured that getting out antiquing or scavenging at a thrift store would allow me to find some things that I could incorporate into a shoot or even better both use in a shoot and use to add some flair to my house.

Well, without a doubt, I definitely scored while antiquing today. I had been following a new shop at the Marketplace called, Shabby Chic by Susan. During my last visit to the Antique Marketplace, I discovered her shop and fell in love with all the old things she had sprung back to life with a paint job or her own unique twist on repurposing the item. I started following her on Facebook, so I knew she had some new things in the shop since I had last been in.  With all the ideas that had been swirling in my head, I had my eye on some of the chairs she had in her shop. Sure enough, the chair I wanted, was still there. But not just that, so was Susan. She was super sweet and kind and the few minutes I got to chat with her, you could just see how much she loved the things she was selling and had put her time and effort into bringing back to life.  After meeting her husband, Michael, and getting his help getting my chair up to the check out area, I walked around a bit more and found a few other things that I grabbed before I headed home.

Just buying cool stuff didn’t quite cure the creative itch…so I stopped at home, grabbed a few other things, and off I went to scout out a location….

Making pretty pictures, getting things out of my head and making them a reality…those things make me feel so fulfilled. Hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them today. <3
