Hello World,  Meet Cheyenne!

When I got Cheyenne’s Slice Seniors questionnaire and she shared her hobbies and interests with me, my mind went into creative overload. Cheyenne’s loves included reading, dance, and color guard, among others. Having been a color guard girl myself for over ten years and having been subjected to one too many “old school” posed color guard photos, which will remain hidden until the day I die, I was hellbent on creating some images for Cheyenne that were the complete opposite of those traditional photos. I wanted to ensure that whatever we created captured the artistry and movement that is an integral part of the color guard world and would showcase her dance skills as well.

The day started out with Cheyenne meeting Stephanie and I at Salon Noti in Lemoyne, where Tiffany gave Cheyenne the movie star treatment with hair and make up. After getting dolled up and pampered, we all met up at my house where we ventured around Downtown Mechanicsburg, before heading to a field just a few minutes away, for a magical ending to a perfect day.  The genuine excitement and appreciation from Cheyenne and her grandmother at getting to have such a unique experience with this shoot, was the most amazing part of this whole thing. Being able to make others feel special, making others want to join me in a “happy dance”, and having them walk away from their shoot with all around warm fuzzies…THAT is what taking pictures is all about for me and I’m thrilled I was able to create that type of experience for them.

Cheyenne will be graduating in June and will be off on her next big adventure: COLLEGE. I wish her nothing but the best and am excited to see where life takes her.

Enjoy and be sure to leave her some love in the comments!

A huge thanks again to Swoon Vintage Rental in Hummelstown for the two upholstered chairs that were used in this shoot and also to Shabby Chic by Susan for the cute chalkboard that I purchased an hour before the shoot!
