Stephanie here, giving you a glimpse into just how seriously Emil and I take our pre-planning process for styled senior’s shoots.

There are numerous ways that Emil and I have worked hard this past year to turn our senior photo sessions into a unique experience with an end result that is true to each of our seniors.  Gone are the days where a senior shows up to their portrait session, poses against the same pretty tree with the same scenic landscape behind them that every other senior in their class poses against too. So MUCH behind the scene work goes into a Slice of Lime senior portrait session!

Take Julia for an example. Julia reached out to Emil starry eyed, eager to see what Slice was all about. Emil and I met with Julia for two uniquely different consultations. Emil getting to know Julia – – her favorite colors, what she envisions her life to be like after high school, what parts of her personality she wanted to shine through in her portraits, what makes her feel most alive. My consultation with Julia was full of all things fashion. We laid out styled looks, talked hair and makeup chatted about what made her feel beautiful. Julia shared that she loved reading, had thick hair that she had no clue what to do with, wanted matte lips and wanted her pictures to give off a fun, edgy, feminine, artsy/creative vibe.

From there, we created a collaborative style board where Julia, Emil, and myself all got to post ideas for her styled senior shoot. This was a board I checked and posted to just about every day leading up to the shoot.

After our style consult where Julia and I hand picked every article of clothing, every pair of shoes and each piece of jewelry that she would wear, a Style Planning Guide was created so Julia knew exactly what to bring on the day of her big shoot. From these looks, we consulted with our hair and makeup team over at Salon NoTi to decide what hair and make up color pallet would work best for the looks we had planned for Julia.

Slice of Lime’s biggest goal with our seniors is to not just make a pretty picture, but truly invest in our seniors and let them SHINE. The pretty pictures are just a BONUS. So after weeks of planning, organizing and lots and lots of communication between me, Emil, Julia, and our hair and make up team….our hard work paid off in what you see below.
