I have been so busy getting ready for Christmas, I have barely had any time to sit back and reflect on my crazy busy year! So as we bid adieu to 2014 and welcome in 2015, here is a little slice of my life – – circa 2014.

Slice Seniors. 2014 was the year #sliceseniors really took off. Emil and I got to work with so many incredible, talented and simply beautiful {both inside and out} seniors. I learned SO MUCH from them. Every single senior I got my hands on were so laid back, willing to try anything. Looking back, I’m going to have to toot my own horn here and say we showcased some pretty fierce styles.

Although this happened most recently, this is by far one of my favorite highlights of the year. Emil and I just about fell off our chairs when we were contacted to be a part of this fantastic group. The ladies over there at Style Re-Define and High Style Magazine are some of the nicest people we have met on our journey. The partnership stemmed from Marissa over at Senior Lovin’. Can’t wait to make some major announcements in 2015, including a pretty cool relationship with Senior Lovin’. Stay tuned! me

Seniorologie. If you ask Emil about Seniorologie, I know she couldn’t not mention the way it all started. Earlier this year, I had read Leslie, owner and founder of Seniorologie, was looking for guest bloggers to showcase how important it was to integrate style and fashion in their senior portrait experience. With no regard, I sent an email to Seniorologie says “Me, me me!!! Over here! We’ll do it!! Look over here! We’ll do it!”…and moved on with my day.  I quickly got a response, committing Slice to 6 months of blog posts.  Sooo I call Emil. “Oh yeah, hey, by the way, we’re contributing to the one of the biggest Senior Photographer community’s websites. No big deal.” Talk about a freak out moment! What will we focus on? Do we have time to plan? Will we have time? What do we want of Slice voice to sound like? Will we make ourselves look stupid? Fear not friends, in the end it worked out better than we could have ever imagined. We worked with some seriously amazing seniors who were more than willing to help us showcase just how much style Slice really has. Not to mention we had a blast doing it.

My best friend got marrrrrrried. Katie-Cakes and her prince charming tied the knot in May and her day and the events leading up to it were pure perfection. And I wore pink! (I never wear pink) From Katie’s jeweled head piece to the pale pink bridesmaid’s dresses to the overwhelming amount of love that was in the air, the day was just stunning both visually and emotionally.

This selfless man even gave me the entire closet this year. Moved his clothes to our spare bedroom so I could organize and EXPAND my clothing collection. If that ain’t love…

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset Campfire Festival I had a very clear goal of immersing myself in all things music and festival fashion. Mission accomplished. The music was AMAZING. I even got to hang out with some of my favorite bands like You, Me and Apollo. On the fashion front, even though it was camping festival, much to my surprise many concert goers get it very stylish. I saw a ton of metallic tattoos, flower power and fun braids and so much more. It was soooo groovy!

_0031_0033 Purchase of the Canon 7D As many of you know, I too, love the photography side of the business as well. Emil has been mentoring me now for over a year and I bravely stepped out of the consumer DSLR market and put my pinky toe in the professional series. Still have a long way to go, and saving every spare penny, but I now proudly own the Canon 7D. Next up, 5D.

These are just a few snapshots of what my year was all about. I am humbled and feel so grateful for the amazing friends and family I have and the amazing opportunities that enrich my life. Seniors, we’ll see you next year!

xoxo,

Stephanie
