Getting asked to be a part of the Senior Style Guide fashion issue is always quite the honor. I get just as giddy as the first time! The previous two years, I always waited til the last minute to pull everything together, so this year, I made it a point to get my ideas for my Editorials plotted out and photographed early. This issue is always a great source of inspiration for seniors on what wear for their sessions and it showcases editorials from photographers all over the country. It’s fun to see what’s trending in different regions and I love being a part of it!
For my previous two editorials in the Senior Style Guide fashion issue, I partnered up with one my favorite stores in the mall, Buckle, and they graciously let us pick and pull anything we wanted for our shoots. From Free People to Billabong, and other trendy brands, we always managed to put together some super fun looks!! But this year, I wanted to infuse my love of vintage and consignment pieces into our shoot and focus on the vibe and fun of the Theatre District in New York City!
So I reached out to three of my 2019 Broadway lovin’ Street Team gals, loaded up in an SUV with the one and only Julie Koranda, and headed up to NYC’s Theatre district for a jam packed 24 hours of shows, photoshoots, good eats, hotel room giggles, and the first confirmed cases of Covid in NYC.
To say we got this editorial done in the ‘nick of time’ is quite the understatement. This was the last group shoot I did before things escalated into the pandemic we are in now and I’m so happy to have had the fun running around a very cooooold New York City with Mary, Maura, and Lauren and our little entourage of awesome people.
Plans for my other editorials were scrapped because of Covid; but I’m beyond grateful I was able to get at least this shoot in and I love how every last detail came together.
